Artists & Staff

Evolved Ink Tattoo is proud to present the artistry, style and tattoos of Ryan Bollinger, TC Combs & Wendi Kai. All of them are artists in other mediums as well as tattoo artists. We believe that art should come first, and the act of tattooing is simply a different medium for the expression of that art. Each of our artists brings a unique, distinctive style and form to Evolved Ink, in order to offer our clientele the broadest choice of artistry by which to develop and express their own body art concepts.

Ryan BollingerABOUT RYAN BOLLINGER: Ryan is 22 years old, and has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He first knew he wanted to be a tattoo artist when he was about 9, when he watched his father get tattooed– he started on his path then and has never looked back.

His tattoo influences include James Kern, Nick Baxter and Nikko, because they are not afraid to try something new, push the envelope and raise the level of competition within the industry, making each new day more exciting. Like them, he prefers to gradually build up colors, gradations and highlights in each tattoo (as if it were a drawing or painting) as opposed to the traditional method of lining and coloring as quickly as possible. While this process can be lengthier than traditional “old school tattooing”, it can be less painful, and the results are far more detailed and realistic.

T.C.ABOUT TC COMBS: TC is a Eugene native as well, with his artistic roots coming from a more urban style, including caricatures, graffiti, custom fonts and religious symbolism. He has had his artwork featured in the Eugene weekly, as well as winning a billboard design contest for 94.9 JAMZ. He apprenticed under Dr. Julien at Black Lotus and came to Evolved Ink in September of 2007. He continues to grow and expand his artistic boundaries on a daily basis. Besides art and tattooing, he loves playing basketball, spending time with his family and helping those in need.

Wendi

ABOUT WENDI KAI: Wendi has been an artist all her life, starting with painting in acrylics, oils and mixed media. She is down to earth, easy to talk to and be around, and best of all, completely dedicated to a life of art. She set off to discover her dream of making her living doing art through tattoos a few years ago, taking formal art classes at Lane Community College and apprenticing under Mild Bill at Skullfly. She is the most recent welcomed addition to the Evolved Ink Team, and continues to take classes at Lane Community College to further her education in fine art.

ChewieABOUT CHRISTIAN J.: Christian (Chewie) is NOT a tattoo artist; he is, however, our loyal and amazingly abled co-pilot, receptionist, and caretaker of our tattoo staff. He keeps things running smoothly around the shop, and makes sure that you can book the most convenient appointment as soon as possible. He keeps the staff well fed and equipped to give you a kickass tattoo.
